A Boulder publisher has started a new website to tout all the city has to offer. But it’s not tourists CEO John Brice is trying to lure to TravelBoulder.com — it’s locals.
“We’ve created Travel Boulder for locals that will drive and inform visitors of what’s happening in our town,” said Brice. “If locals use us, then tourists will want to use us.”
Along with his wife, Jill Nagel-Brice, Brice owns Boulder-based Campus Publishers, which creates official visitor guides for U.S. colleges, including the University of Colorado. Travel Boulder, under a new entity called Go Visit Media, is completely separate from Campus Publishers, financially and conceptually.
Though it has travel-relevant information such as hotel and restaurant listings, Travel Boulder is not a travel guide. Rather, Brice said, it’s a “content-driven photojournalist experience” of the city.
Articles, written in the style of a BuzzFeed list, include “How to Plan a Girlfriend’s Getaway in Boulder” and “The Best Places to do Snowga” (that’s yoga in the snow for the uninitiated).
